  1. ya i think he was good for france but not so much. he did win a lot of battles but towards his death he lost some. like when he invaded russia and lost to britan. and then most of the countries ganged up on him and he was exiled to elba. but overall i think in the begining of his power, he was good for france

  2. All in all, I think Napoleon was good for France. He helped France continue on its revolutionary path. He supported the enlightenment ideas and continued to spead those, and he was a popular and well liked leader for most of his rule. Napoleon helped France expand and grow and move away from monarchies. Napoleon just got too full of himself by the end of his reign and that eventually led to his demise. He conquered so much land and helped France feel good about themselves for the first time in a while. If only Napoleon didn't get so self absorb in the end, he would've helped France so much more!

  3. I think Napoleon did a lot of good for France but got mad and stopped thinking rationally. He did a lot of great things before he lost. He was able to take over most of Europe, have a good enough economy and mostly he had the support of the people. He didn't think about what the continental system would do to France and he didn't prepare his troops well enough but I think that if he did things a little different France could still own most of Europe

  4. Napoleon Bonaparte; it just sounds strong, and it fits who he was as a ruler of France. Napoleon, being an incredibly intelligent and clever man on the battlefield, from training since he was only 9, has proven his power in wars. He was not afraid to take risks, risks which won him battles and some that lost him battles. He however stayed proud of his fighting in a battle he lost, like against the british in egypt where he described how well his troops fought. It was his army that gave him the most power until he moved into a political world
Napoleon was popular and well-liked by the people for overthrowing the Directory to help end the monarchy, in favor of the revolution. And so he rose quickly in high political ranks and created the 3-man consulate which he would soon name himself emperor of France. In this position he introduced Napoleonic Code, a new set of laws in favor for the people governed, (except for women). The citizens appreciated that he offered plescibites, or ballots which gave the people choices on change (agreeing with it). Although Napoleon was at fault here in my opinion because he took away women's rights. He could have gotten another half of the population in France on his side, women. But they saw it as their role in society, to be good houseworkers and mothers.
His grand army conquering almost all of Europe allowed Napoleon to place relatives in thrones of other countries such as his brother Joseph in Spain. This spread his reign and boosted Frances nationalism, (pride in ones country), as if they were the best and strongest.
Although Napoleons reputation would be his downfall.
After losing to the british at the battle of Trafalgar, Napoleon wanted to attack Britain's economy by closing off all european ports to british goods by force or bribing. This turned out to be a failure because Britain traded with America and India. It was Europe who was hurt the most. Its economy went into the toilet and Russia decided to step out of the continental system. Napoleon, angry rushed into Russia with his grand army with 400,000 troops planning to conquer Russia. Winter was approaching. Bad idea
Russians fled East burning villages and fields, "scorched earth" policy which left the Grand army cold and hungry. 10,000 made it back retreating and Napoleon was exiled twice for losing to Russia and then back again to fight the British with Prussia
Overall, Napoleon was excellent for France. He introduced new laws, a form of democracy, added territory for France and changed Europes map. His figure of strength stood tall but he was looked up to too much. When we messed up, they skyrocketed downward in hope for him. He shouldve been smarter about the Russian invasion and not sending most of his troops to leave his military and France weak. He still is a tall (really short) leader in history. lol

  5. For the most part I think that Napoleon was good for France. HE was there to pick France up after the horrible reign of terror leading France to it's greatest extent.Napoleon was also a fair man he knew what the people wanted and gave them their rights that they had fought so hard for along side Napoleon. He was a little big headed and took it to heart when he lost a battle which was really his biggest problem because it realy wasn't a bigg deal he still had control of most of Europe. If he wasn't so gassed up in the head maybe he would have retreated earlier in the fight with Russia. That way he woulnd't have made the French military so weak and he could have gotten over the fact that he lost a battle because he would stil be on top. Anyways he was a good man over all. You can't blame him for enjoying being on top because he was a little dude and everyone deals with their insecurities in a different way. :P ahaha his way was just much more effective and effected all of France.

  7. Napoleon was a very good leader for France in fact. Much better than Louis the XIV. Unlike this previous dictator, Napoleon does not hog any items or money from France. Napoleon had power and he was strong, he fought through many victorious wars. Some, not so much. When Louis the XVIII was about to take over, the French was horrified and needed Napoleon back. Napoleon was good for France. Well, compared to Louis the XIV, Napoleon is better in ruling France than Louis lol...

  8. i think Napoleon was a good leader except for when he tried to march into the second largest country in the world and expected to beet them in a battle. that was the only really bad thing he ever did but it was so bad and he lost over 300,000 men that it evened out the good and bad in his career of leading. he also came into leader ship when France was coming out of their revolution and was in bad shape and without a good leader. Napoleon was perfect for that job. Napoleon thought he was on top of the world so so he tried to beat Russia and failed and that was the cause of his first exile.

  9. Yes, i think that Napolian was a good leader for France. I think this, because he raised tha nationalism of France by winning many battles and even the ones he lost made him seem like a hero. He also made the Napolionic code which caused there to be a stable government. He also used plebians so that he knew that the people agreed with what he was doing. The people in France all aproved and agreed with him, this only changed when he atempted to take over Russia and failed miserably. He then was crushed by other places in Europe that oposed his rule. He was then exiled to Elba. From there he returned and was again crushed by European countrys. He was then sent to St. Helena. It was here that Napolian died. But even though he dies he left an impact on not only France but all of Europe. He caused France to unite and fight as one and he also made great laws that the people greatly surported. Then he aslo helped to change the rest of Europe because he changed the bounderies and also by invaiding them he casued those European countries to gain nationalism. This is why I think that Napolian was a good leader and ruler of France.

  11. Ok so I think that Napoleon was a good way for France to come out of the revolution. He won all of first wars and slammed away any enemy of his Kingdom. So this gave France somebody to believe in which I think motivated the people a lot to support him.
Also no ordinary human could become to total dictator of Europe, but Napoleon had a good run and I think inspired the people that there country has the power to be at the top.
In all Napoleon was very good

  12. Napoleon was good for France. The rest of europe, not so much. but he brought stability to the french government while keeping the people happy, gained the most land for France in history, used good economic reforms through making jobs available to all, and sparked nationalism throughout france with his victories. He also rebuilt France's army into one of the strongest if not the strongest in the world. His only big mistake was being defeated and abdicating, since that suddenly caused France to drop in power and wealth.

  13. i think that napoleon was a very good leader for france.if napoleon wasn't there for france after the revolution, france might not exist today as france became weak without a strong government, the neighboring countries would have probably invaded france. napoleon won many victories for france and during his first 10 years as an emperor, he made france a very strong and powerful country. but as every other great person, he did meet his downfall. he made his big final mistake by trying to invade russia. otherwise, he was a great leader of france.

  14. I think that Napoleon was both good and bad for France, but for the most part, he was good. He was good because he brought France to many victories and helped expand France. He also started the Napoleonic Code which contained enlightenment ideas. Without Napoleon, France may have lost all of its power because of all of the raids against them. They also may have not have been able to decide who would be their ruler and what their government would have been like. Even though Napoleon made some bad choices as the emperor, he helped France overall.

  15. I think that Napoleon was good for France. He had a good army to protect the France and the other countries he conquered. But, i dont think he was fair to the countries he took of. Like when he took over spain he made his brother the king. Also how if he took over a country he would make them switch religions

  16. I think that Napoleon was good for france because he asked their opinions on things and gave people jobs who were good at what they did.Even though he lost one battle, the people of france still wanted him to come back so you can tell that he made a big impact on the people. He also had a good army to protect france from enemies.

  17. Napoleon was not very good for france at all. One way to show this is his obsession with nepotism. He doesn't know whether his relatives will be good rulers/government officials. Why just give them the thrones, then?! The answer is that he did not plan ahead outside of battle that well. One must question his common sense.
